About the Role
AJ&U Recruitment are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Injection Mould Toolmaker to join our client in Leicester being part of a growing precision engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the manufacture, maintenance, and repair of high-quality injection mould tools used in plastic component production. This role requires a strong understanding of all toolmaking processes which include CNC machining, spark erosion, CAD CAM, fitting, grinding and mould construction. You will work with a small team of toolmakers and collaborate on all aspects of design to ensure optimal tool performance and product quality.

Key Responsibilities as a Injection Mould Toolmaker
- Manufacture new injection mould tools from full 3D CAD models
- Perform routine maintenance, modifications, and repairs on existing tools manufacture by CGP and customer provided moulds
- Program and operate CNC machines, EDM (spark & wire erosion), milling and turning
- Inspect tools for wear and damage, ensuring they meet dimensional and functional specifications
- Maintain accurate records of tool maintenance, modifications, and performance
- Adhere to health and safety standards and promote a clean, organized work environment
As a Injection Mould Toolmaker you would ideally have skills such as
- Proven experience as a Toolmaker in injection moulding or precision engineering
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and 3D CAD files
- Skilled in CNC machining, manual milling, turning, and surface grinding
- Knowledge of tool steels, heat treatment, and machining tolerances
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Enthusiastic and willingness to embrace change and innovation
- Experience working on Hurco’s an advantage, but training can be arranged.
- Experience with Visi CAD also an advantage but not essential
