Infrastructure Linux Engineer

Infrastructure Linux Engineer with SC Clearence We are looking for an experienced Linux Admins/Engineers to join Digital Platforms which is involved in the standards, development and maintenance of a number of systems across the organisation. The Linux Engineer will be involved in the following activities, amongst others: Provisioning of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL 8 to 10) systems in both physical and virtual environments In-Situ upgrading of RHEL servers using LEAPP upgrade too Advise project managers on Linux-related technical and delivery matters Essential Skills/Competencies Previous experience in a technical position within Linux platform support and/or delivery Familiarity with request, problem and project management processes and tools Detail oriented, process driven, highly innovative mindset, with deeply engrained sense of ownership for the projects delivered Adept at stakeholder communications, from senior level to domain-wide engagement events Technical Skills and Requirements Essential Experience of managing Red Hat Enterprise Linux production systems (RHEL 7 through to 10) Experience of using scripting to automate tasks Experience with virtualisation technologies (Linux under VMWare) Experience of working within the ITIL framework Experience of managing systems with RHN satellite Desirable Recent experience with JBoss Linux performance tuning skills Experience with Linux failover clustering Experience of Cisco UCS hardware. ..... full job details .....
