Infrastructure Engineer

Infrastructure Engineer 3-month contract NorthamptonMy Customer is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to support a server migration project, transitioning from Windows Server 2016 to Windows Server 2025. This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer with a strong Windows ecosystem background, capable of working across complex environments and ensuring a smooth and secure migration.Required Skills and Experience for the Infrastructure Engineer: Strong hands-on experience with Windows Server 2016 and newer versions (including 2025 or latest equivalents)Proven track record delivering server migration or upgrade projects ideally Windows 2016 to Windows 2025Solid experience across core Windows technologies (Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP)Experience supporting and maintaining SQL Server (2014 and above)Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills within enterprise environmentsExperience working in structured project environments with clear deliverablesExposure to or experience with VMware vRealize Automation (vRA) would be beneficialExperience with virtualisation technologies (VMware / Hyper-V) would be beneficial Key Responsibilities of the Infrastructure Engineer: Lead and support the migration of Windows Server 2016 environments to Windows Server 2025Assess existing infrastructure, identifying dependencies, risks, and opportunities for optimisationBuild, configure, and deploy new Windows Server environmentsPerform in-place upgrades and/or migration to ..... full job details .....
