Information Technology Infrastructure Manager

Our client, a prominent player in the Defence and Security sector, is seeking an Information Technology Infrastructure Manager to join their team in Bristol. This permanent, hybrid role requires an experienced IT professional to take ownership of on-site IT infrastructure, acting as the infrastructure lead without line management responsibilities. Eligibility for SC clearance is required.Key Responsibilities:Infrastructure and Server ManagementFull ownership of on-premise Windows-based infrastructureAdministration and maintenance of: Windows Server environmentsActive Directory and Group PolicyFile and application serversVirtualisation platforms (e.g. VMware or Hyper-V)Act as senior escalation for infrastructure-related issuesServer Room and Data CentreDay-to-day responsibility for the server room/data centreManage hardware lifecycle, upgrades, and capacity planningLiaise with third-party suppliers and support partners when requiredBusiness Continuity and Disaster RecoveryTake control of Business Continuity and Disaster RecoveryEnsure backups are monitored, tested, and recoverableMaintain and improve DR documentation and processesProvide calm, structured technical leadership during incidentsProactive Improvement and New TechnologyContinuously look for opportunities to improve infrastructure stability, security, and performanceStay current with relevant technologies and assess what the business could benefit fromProactively plan and implement appropriate upgrades or ..... full job details .....
