NHSThis is an opportunity for an enthusiastic, motivated and skilled registered nurse to undertake the role of Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) Nurse, working in both acute and community settings. The role involves using clinical knowledge to develop expertise in the prevention and control of infection and microbiology, in partnership with clinical teams to improve patient outcomes and promote patient safety.Responsibilities
Support the IPC lead in achieving year-on-year compliance with IPC objectives.Be visible and proactive as a role model in providing clinically effective, evidence-based infection prevention and control standards.Manage a wide range of complex and sometimes conflicting priorities with patient needs at the centre of care delivery.Provide specialist advice to support and facilitate high-quality, individualized patient care in collaboration with the multi-professional team, in line with local and national targets.Be innovative in using all aspects of the role (learning from incidents, observations, feedback) to foster a culture of zero tolerance for HCAIs.Manage infection incidents and outbreaks, recognise infection risks, and carry out post-infection reviews and serious incident reports as required.About Us
