Indirect Tax Assistant

SF Recruitment are seeking an Indirect Tax Assistant urgently required on a temporary to permanent basis for a well established construction business based locally in Birmingham. This is a growing organisation with a strong regional presence and an impressive portfolio of projects, continuing on a path of sustained growth within the construction sector. Reporting into the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for supporting VAT returns, CIS reporting and compliance, reviewing subcontractor VAT treatment including reverse charge applications, reconciling VAT control accounts, assisting with HMRC queries and supporting wider indirect tax processes across the business. You will also play a key role in ensuring compliance with current VAT legislation specific to the construction industry. You will have strong attention to detail, excellent Excel skills and a proactive approach, with the ability to communicate effectively across finance and operational teams to ensure accuracy and compliance. Previous experience within VAT or indirect tax is desirable, with construction sector experience advantageous but not essential. The role offers hybrid working.
