Indirect Category Manager

Portfolio Procurement has been engaged by our leading Essex based client to recruit for an Indirect Category Manager. The role:You will be balancing a variety of spend categories, managing multiple stakeholders. Main responsibilities:Control of the sourcing strategy for a selected group of indirect commodities.Identify, benchmark, and select new suppliers to deliver your sourcing strategy.Manage an established global network of suppliers and contracts to deliver against challenging project schedules.Establish contracts and framework agreements to ensure security of supply and delivery of improvements against KPIs.Identify alternative sources to reduce supply costs and improve quality.Implement and progress effective supplier development plans, yielding tangible improvements.Co-ordinate activities between the business and suppliers to improve performance aligned with operational and business priorities.Manage supplier performance, drawing on your experience and performance data to yield consistent improvements. Work with project teams to establish procurement requirements and ensure suppliers are managed to deliver against project milestones, specifications, and objectives. Skills and Experience required:Specific indirect commodity management experienceExperience working in a manufacturing environment (preferably low volume / high mix).Bachelor''s degree in a relevant subject would be advantageous.MCIPS qualifications would be advantageous.Working with excel to compile and ..... full job details .....
