Independent Living Advisor - Devon
Our Independent Living teams help older people remain safe, independent, and connected within their own homes through the delivery of a high-quality housing management service.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and customer-focused Independent Living Advisor to join our team in Devon. This is a full-time, permanent position working 35 hours per week and is ideal for someone who is passionate about supporting people aged 55 and over to maintain their independence and wellbeing.
About the Role
Reporting to the Independent Living Manager, you will provide housing management support to residents living in our accommodation for people aged 55 and over. You will build positive relationships with residents, support prospective tenants through viewings and move-ins, and help customers understand their tenancy rights and responsibilities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering a responsive and customer-focused housing management service.
- Supporting residents to access welfare benefits, financial guidance, and other relevant services.
- Making referrals for aids, adaptations, and support services that promote independent living.
- Conducting regular estate inspections and health and safety checks.
- Monitoring contractor performance to ensure services are delivered to a high standard.
- Encouraging resident engagement and fostering a positive community environment.
This role will primarily support schemes within Exeter, although flexibility is required to provide cover across Mid Devon, West Devon, and Teignbridge when needed.
A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle are essential. Business mileage is reimbursed at 55p per mile.

- The ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
