Income Manager - Housing

Our client, a leading provider of social housing based in South East London / Kent, has a fantastic opportunity for an Interim Income Manager on an initial six month assignment.
They are seeking a forward-thinking and skilled Income Manager to take the lead on rent collection, Right to Buy, service charges, and income performance during a time of change and opportunity.
This is a hands-on leadership role with real impact, perfect for someone who thrives on turning around services, leading teams, and navigating shifting housing policies like the Renters Reform Bill
Responsibilities:
Leading a team of 7, two direct reports (including Right to Buy and Income Officers)
Managing rent and service charge collection across general needs.
Driving income performance and tackling rent arrears
Handling approximately 18 Right to Buy cases per year and preparing for growth
Supporting service charge consultation and improvements
Ensuring data accuracy and compliance with consumer standards
Preparing for future regulation and inspections
Motivating and improving a team in need of strong, proactive leadership
Requirements;
Demonstrated experience managing income or rent services in a local authority or housing provider.
Understanding of Right to Buy legislation, data returns, and consumer standards.
Evidence of delivery and improvement in other Local Authorities or similar housing settings.
Strong financial awareness with the ability to interpret data and forecast risk.
Confident communicator, especially when dealing with residents.
Forward-thinking and adaptable to policy change and strategic service planning.
This client operates a hybrid work pattern of 2 days in the office per week.
