About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Income Housing Accounting Officer to join our Housing Finance team within a Local Authority setting. This is a key role responsible for ensuring accurate financial management of housing income, supporting service delivery, and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and reconcile housing income accounts, including rent, service charges, and other income streams
- Monitor arrears and support income recovery processes in collaboration with housing teams
- Prepare financial reports, forecasts, and variance analysis for housing income
- Ensure accurate posting of transactions and maintain integrity of financial systems
- Support budget setting and year-end processes
- Liaise with internal departments and external stakeholders to resolve discrepancies
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and audit requirements
About You
- Proven experience working within housing finance or income accounting, ideally within a Local Authority or social housing environment
- Strong understanding of housing rents, service charges, and income management processes
- Experience using financial management systems and housing management systems
- Excellent analytical skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
