About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Income Housing Accounting Officer to join our Housing Finance team within a Local Authority setting. This is a key role responsible for ensuring accurate financial management of housing income, supporting service delivery, and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and reconcile housing income accounts, including rent, service charges, and other income streams
• Monitor arrears and support income recovery processes in collaboration with housing teams
• Prepare financial reports, forecasts, and variance analysis for housing income
• Ensure accurate posting of transactions and maintain integrity of financial systems
• Support budget setting and year-end processes
• Liaise with internal departments and external stakeholders to resolve discrepancies
• Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and audit requirements

About You

• Proven experience working within housing finance or income accounting, ideally within a Local Authority or social housing environment
• Strong understanding of housing rents, service charges, and income management processes
• Experience using financial management systems and housing management systems
• Excellent analytical skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
