This is a fantastic opportunity to join a major UK housebuilder, taking a pivotal role in how the business manages legal risk, disputes, and compliance in a fast-moving industry. Sitting on the Senior Leadership Team, you''ll work directly with senior stakeholders and lead on some of the most high-profile building safety projects in the country.

The role

In this hands-on position, you will:· Lead on building safety legal matters, including cladding, structural, and fire safety remediation.· Draft and negotiate JCT contracts, remedial works agreements, consultant appointments, and settlements.· Manage disputes (mediation, pre-action protocol, and litigation) alongside external counsel.· Oversee legal spend and panel firm relationships, ensuring cost-effective advice.· Partner with project, technical, and commercial teams to deliver pragmatic solutions.· Streamline processes, standardise documentation, and embed best practice.

About you· UK-qualified solicitor with 5+ years PQE.· Strong construction law background - preferably both contentious and non-contentious.· Knowledge of building safety issues (cladding, fire defects, structural remediation).· Confident handling JCT contracts and disputes from start to finish.· Comfortable influencing senior stakeholders and operating at leadership level.· Open to candidates from private practice or in-house backgrounds.
