Import and Cross Trade Load Planner

Premier Work Support are working alongside their client based in Basildon who are currently recruiting for a permanent enthusiastic and career-focused Import & Cross Trade Load Planner to join their operations team.

The ideal candidate will have experience with export shipments from China and be eager to develop their knowledge within international freight forwarding.

The role involves planning container movements from China to the UK and USA, selecting the most appropriate services based on transit times and cost, and coordinating co-load shipments from various origin points. The successful candidate will work closely with overseas agents, our UK Import team, and our USA Cross Trade team to ensure the smooth movement of freight.

Customer communication and occasional quotation support will also form part of the role. Cross-training with other team members will be required to provide operational cover when needed.

Key Requirements

• Experience within freight forwarding, logistics, or shipping operations.
• Knowledge of export movements from China.
• Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• Customer-focused approach.
• Keen to learn, develop, and progress within the business.

This position would suit someone looking to build a long-term career in the freight and logistics industry.

Hours are Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.
