Imaging Data Engineer - Neurobiology - Dr Sven Truckenbrodt - LMB 2697

We are seeking a scientist-engineer excited about developing tools for handling and analysing large (tens to hundreds of terabytes) and highly multimodal brain imaging data sets.Your main focus will be to develop new tools to integrate, parse, analyse, and represent brain mapping datasets with an unprecedented number of information channels. Additionally, your responsibilities may include data handling tasks such as image stitching, registration, and morphological neuron segmentation.You will work closely with experimental scientists to design the entire data acquisition and processing pipeline, from experiment design to image acquisition and analysis.The ideal candidate will have a master''s degree in neuroscience, molecular biology, biotechnology, or a related discipline, or be due to complete one within 6 months.Salary and Location

The Molecular Brain Mapping research group at the MRC-LMB in Cambridge aims to solve fundamental questions of biological computation, especially for complex mammalian brains. Our research focuses on the brain''s hardware components, from circuits to synapses and molecular nano-anatomy.We employ the paradigm of "molecular connectomics," using expansion microscopy and other light microscopy techniques to combine morphological neuron segmentation with molecular biology tools, such as immunostainings and viral neuron barcoding, at synaptic resolution.Facilities and Benefits
