As an engineer at SSTL, you''ll be involved in every stage of a mission, from concept to AIT, launch, commissioning, and operational life. This is a true cradle-to-grave experience that will give you the chance to see your work in space in a rapid timescale! As part of the Optical Payloads group, you''ll collaborate closely with other members of the Optical Department and the core satellite mission team, interacting with technical leads across multiple disciplines to create innovative solutions.Key Responsibilities:Design cutting-edge electronics for SSTL Optical PayloadsDevelop digital and analogue hardware for the space environmentCapture schematics and design at the board levelPerform circuit simulations as neededEnsure designs are ready for manufacture and testingDesign Electronics Ground Support EquipmentAuthor technical documents, including assembly and test procedures, reports, and technical descriptionsMaintain technical solutions, budgets, and schedulesInterface and make trade-offs at the system and subsystem levelsWork closely within a core project teamWhat We''re Looking For:Proven experience in electronics designFamiliarity with Mentor tools is a plusExperience in mixed signal designProficiency in circuit-level debugging and testingKnowledge of scripting languages like Python, TCL, or similarUnderstanding of FPGA design in VHDLExperience with lab test equipmentQualifications, Skills and Attributes:

A degree or equivalent in Electronics EngineeringExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsAbility to influence, persuade, and negotiate at all levelsHighly organized, self-motivated, and proactiveStrong team player with the ability to interface with others at all levelsGood presentation and customer-facing skillsResults-oriented with a strong drive to deliverFlexible and adaptable to changing prioritiesExcellent planning and organizing skillsAbility to work on multiple projects simultaneouslyAble to work autonomously and take initiativeStrong decision-making and creative problem-solving skillsProven ability to deliver solutions under pressure and tight timescalesProficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Project)Demonstrates company mindsets and behaviours: Be accountable, Drive and deliver, Communicate effectively, Self-manage effectively, Work as one teamNot a 100% match?
