This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a skilled team undertaking cable jointing works on paper/lead and polymeric cables, along with fitting and wireman duties. The role supports the upgrade and replacement of substation equipment, ensuring safe, high-quality workmanship and delivering fit-for-purpose networks for our customers. You''ll be working on a variety of projects that promote the company in a positive light and contribute to the ongoing development of the UK''s electrical infrastructure. Some of the key deliverables in this role will include: Supporting the installation of power cable joints and terminations on paper/lead or polymeric underground or substation cable systems, switchgear, transformers, and associated equipment in substations operating at up to 33kV.Assisting with the replacement of plant/equipment and associated multicores and earthing cables to deliver fully operational schemes.Progressing to "Authorised Person" status under SSE''s Safety Rules, enabling: Independent access to substations containing live exposed conductors.Receipt and cancellation of permits to work.Supervision of working parties.
