HVAC Service Engineer
Location: Birmingham & Midlands (Field-Based)
Salary: -40,000 - -52,000 (DOE) + Overtime & Call-Out (OTE -50k+)
Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time

A well-established building services and facilities management contractor is seeking an experienced HVAC Service Engineer to join their expanding Midlands team. You''ll be working across a varied portfolio of commercial and industrial sites, delivering high-quality service, maintenance, and fault-finding support.

The Role

• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive works across HVAC systems
• Diagnosing and repairing electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration faults
• Servicing and maintaining:
  • Split and multi-split systems
  • VRV / VRF systems
  • AHUs, FCUs, and ventilation systems
  • Heat pumps and chillers (where applicable)
• Performing leak detection, pressure testing, evacuation, and refrigerant charging
• Completing service reports and F-Gas compliance documentation
• Liaising with clients and internal teams to ensure smooth service delivery
• Working in line with F-Gas regulations and Health & Safety standards
• Participating in an on-call rota (typically 1 in 6 to 1 in 8)

Requirements

Essential:

• Minimum 3 years'' experience as an HVAC / AC Service Engineer
• F-Gas Category 1 certification
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
• Solid understanding of HVAC electrical and mechanical systems
• Full UK driving licence
• Ability to work independently across multiple sites

Desirable:

• NVQ Level 2/3 or City & Guilds in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning
• Experience with chillers, heat pumps, or ventilation systems
• 18th Edition (BS7671)
• IPAF / PASMA
