HV Engineer

Astute''s Strategic Division are currently recruiting for a HV Engineer to join the EPC Contractor on a new build Converter Station in the Newcastle area on a permanent basis.The HV Engineer position comes with a Salary from 75,000 to 80,000 plus company benefits.Responsibilities and duties of the HV Engineer role You will: Lead end-to-end delivery of primary HV plant and MV design packages, from concept through to construction, including single-line diagrams, layouts, and equipment specificationProvide technical governance by reviewing, approving, and signing off internal and third-party designs for accuracy, compliance, and constructabilityAct as the discipline lead for Primary Plant and MV engineering, mentoring engineers and coordinating with Protection and Control, Civil, Cable, and Project Delivery teamsManage interfaces between HV primary, HV secondary (PandC), and MV systems, ensuring design consistency and integrationInterface with clients and stakeholders, representing the contractor as the subject matter expert in primary plant designSupport procurement activities, including preparation of technical specifications, evaluation of supplier bids, and review of vendor documentation and drawingsCoordinate with consortium partners, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure timely and compliant design deliveryProfessional qualificationsWe are looking for someone with the following: Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)Minimum 10 years'' experience in HV/MV ..... full job details .....
