FINTEC recruit is recruiting for HV Electrical Engineers SAP (senior authorised person) for new projects with the offshore renewable sector. This is a permanent position with salary up to £85,000 plus 15% allowance & commercial vehicle provided plus overtime at enhanced rates and other benefits e.g. life assurance, private medical cover, pension contributions etc. You will be the technical expert on 400kV high voltage operations and maintenance activities.
This role will be home based with travel to our sites in Scotland, Midlands and London areas. The rota will be 2 weeks on/2 weeks off and there will be a mixture of offshore and onshore work. Flexibility to travel to all of our sites when required but will split sites within the team to be closer to home locations.
Responsibilities:
• Maintain and oversee high voltage electrical systems up to 400kV.
• Outage planning, site switching activities, demarcation establishment, issue safety documents.
• Provide technical guidance & operational support for high voltage operations and maintenance activities
• Safety leadership ensuring compliance of critical high voltage infrastructure
• Work closely with Operational management to implement HV safety processes and procedures, be the authorising engineer, supporting authorisation panels and associated training programmes.
Skills and Experience required for the HV Engineer:-
• Experience as an authorised Person (Authorising Engineer) and technical lead on 400kV systems, able to provide evidence of HV Authorisations
• Hands on experience in high voltage electrical operations, maintenance and safety management.
• Expertise in high voltage systems, including design, operations and maintenance
• Able to provide hands-on guidance, troubleshooting and oversee on complex HV system issues
• Thorough understanding of high voltage safety management, with a focus on the offshore wind industry
• Familiarity with UK Electricity at Work Regulations or equivalent high voltage safety standards
