Humanities Teacher Specification

We are currently recruiting for a passionate and dedicated Humanities Teacher to join a middle school in Redditch, with an immediate start available. This is a long-term, part-time role teaching KS3 students only.

The successful applicant will teach Humanities across KS3, with responsibility for planning and delivering lessons, marking students'' work and assessing progress. The role requires a confident teacher who can create engaging lessons, adapt learning to meet students'' needs and maintain strong classroom management.

Please note, this is a challenging school with high levels of behavioural need. An experienced, resilient teacher with excellent behaviour management skills is essential to succeed in this environment.

Essential Requirements:

• UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or recognised equivalent qualification.
• Experience teaching Humanities at KS3.
• Confident teaching subjects such as History, Geography and RE, depending on experience.
• Experience planning, marking and assessing students'' work.
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
• Ability to adapt lessons to meet different learning needs.
• Safeguarding Level 1 trained (support available if required).
• Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.

Key responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured Humanities lessons across KS3.
• Mark students'' work and provide constructive feedback.
• Assess and monitor student progress, adapting teaching where necessary.
• Maintain high standards of behaviour and create a positive learning environment.
• Differentiate lessons to support students of varying abilities and needs.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to support student progress and development.
