One of our fantastic partner secondary schools in Chatham, Kent is looking for a passionate and dependable teacher to deliver engaging History, Geography, or RE lessons up to Key Stage 4 from September 2025 through to Christmas (with the potential to stay on). Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, creative, and differentiated lessons in Humanities subjects (History, Geography, Religious Education) in line with the National Curriculum.
- Teach students across Key Stages 3 and 4, supporting their preparation for GCSE and A-Level success.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and respectful learning environment, inspiring students to engage with Humanities and achieve their potential.
- Adapt lessons to suit a range of student abilities, including those with SEND, ensuring all learners are supported.
- Use effective classroom management strategies to maintain focus and engagement.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback to encourage learning and development.
- Collaborate with colleagues and contribute to school life, including participation in extracurricular activities and curriculum development.
Key Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in a relevant Humanities subject (History, Geography, Religious Education).
- Proven experience teaching Humanities across Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Strong subject knowledge and a genuine passion for Humanities education.
- A positive and adaptable approach to teaching, with excellent classroom management skills.
- Ability to engage and motivate students while building positive relationships with learners and staff.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
Desirable:
- Experience preparing students for GCSE exams.
- A track record of contributing to curriculum development and extracurricular activities.
- Experience supporting a diverse range of learners and abilities.
