Role: Day-to-day and short-term supply, with potential for longer-term opportunities
Pay: £140–£190 per day, depending on experience
Cover People are looking for Humanities Teachers to support secondary schools across Tameside. This is a great opportunity for teachers who enjoy delivering engaging lessons and helping pupils develop their understanding of the world around them.
The majority of bookings will be day-to-day and short-term cover, offering flexibility for teachers seeking supply work. Longer-term placements may also become available as schools'' staffing needs change.
The RoleYou will help maintain continuity of learning by delivering Humanities lessons across different secondary school settings.
Depending on your subject specialism and the school, your responsibilities may include:
Teaching subjects such as History, Geography and Religious Education
Delivering lessons across KS3 and KS4
Following existing lesson plans and adapting resources where appropriate
Helping pupils develop subject knowledge, critical thinking and analytical skills
Encouraging discussion, participation and independent learning
Managing classroom behaviour and maintaining clear expectations
Supporting pupils with different abilities and learning needs
Checking understanding and providing feedback where appropriate
Working alongside other teaching and support staff to maintain a positive learning environment
We''re keen to hear from qualified Humanities Teachers who can adapt quickly to different schools and deliver purposeful, engaging lessons.
You should have:
QTS or an appropriate recognised teaching qualification
Experience teaching at secondary level
Strong subject knowledge in at least one Humanities discipline
Effective classroom and behaviour-management skills
The ability to follow school planning and work independently
Good communication and organisational skills
A flexible, reliable and professional approach
A commitment to supporting pupils'' progress and achievement
Teachers specialising in History, Geography or Religious Education are encouraged to apply. Early Career Teachers and experienced practitioners are both welcome.
