Salary: £42,000 + Company Car or Car Allowance

A leading utilities contractor is looking to appoint a Health & Safety Advisor to support operations across Scotland. Working predominantly within the water sector, you will play a key role in promoting a positive health and safety culture, ensuring legislative compliance and supporting operational teams across multiple sites.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Health & Safety professional looking to join a well-established business delivering essential infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
·Provide competent Health & Safety advice and support to operational teams across multiple sites.
·Carry out regular site inspections, audits and workplace assessments, identifying areas for improvement and ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
·Promote a proactive safety culture through coaching, mentoring and engagement with site personnel.
·Support incident investigations, producing reports and ensuring lessons learned are communicated across the business.
·Ensure compliance with current Health & Safety legislation, company policies and client requirements.
·Assist with the development and review of risk assessments, method statements and safe systems of work.
·Monitor Health & Safety performance, identifying trends and recommending improvements.
·Liaise with managers, clients and subcontractors to maintain high standards of Health & Safety performance.
·Support internal and external audits where required.
About You
To be considered, you should have:
·Experience working as a Health & Safety Advisor within utilities, ideally the water industry.
·A NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent).
·A valid CSCS Card.
·Full UK Driving Licence.
·Experience carrying out site inspections, audits and supporting operational teams on live construction or utilities projects.
·Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
·The ability to work independently while managing a regional workload across Scotland.
Desirable
·Previous experience within the water sector.
·Experience within wider utilities or energy infrastructure.
·Experience delivering Health & Safety training.
·ISO 45001 Internal Auditor qualification.
·Membership of IOSH (or working towards).
