HSQE Manager — Bedfordshire/London area. Salary: £65,000 – £75,000 per year. Job reference: J29232. Posted: 18/09/2025.You will be working for a main contractor specialising in healthcare, commercial, and specialist roofing projects, committed to delivering projects to the highest standards of safety, quality, and environmental compliance. The role is based at head office in Bedfordshire with weekly site visits.Responsibilities
Lead and develop the company''s HSQE strategy, policies, and management systems.Oversee health, safety, quality, and environmental compliance across all projects.Carry out and report on audits, inspections, and site visits.Support project managers, site teams, and supply chain with practical HSQE guidance.Ensure compliance with UK legislation, CDM Regulations, and ISO standards.Review and approve RAMS, quality plans, and environmental management plans.Lead investigations into incidents, non-conformances, and implement corrective actions.Deliver training, toolbox talks, and awareness sessions.Act as the primary point of contact for HSQE matters with clients, consultants, and enforcing bodies.Coordinate understanding of Temporary Works and the associated documentation.Prepare and write Risk and Method Statements, Construction Phase Plans, and COSHH Assessments.Carry out audits and maintain Quality Management Systems; oversee induction processes.Assist with Accident and Incident investigations and continuous improvement.Requirements
At least 5 years of experience in a health and safety capacity, ideally within construction and with a Main Contractor.Excellent knowledge of health and safety regulations and standards.Strong interpersonal and communication skills; IT proficient.NEBOSH, IOSH, NVQ Level 6 in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent preferred.Construction-relevant certification desirable but not essential.Proficient in Microsoft Office and industry software; full UK driving licence.Office-based role with weekly site visits.Chartered or working towards CMIOSH status preferred.Strong knowledge of CDM Regulations and ISO management systems (9001, 14001, 45001).Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders.Company
