HSEQ Manager - Specialist Contractor - Essex

About the Role:GDS Partners are recruiting for an experienced HSEQ Manager to join an established Specialist Contractor delivering projects across the construction, rail, aviation and major infrastructure sectors. Based in Essex, this is a senior, hands-on position with responsibility for leading and continuously improving Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality standards across the business. The position is mostly office-based with some site visits. The successful candidate will work closely with senior management and operational teams, combining strategic HSEQ management with a strong presence across live projects and operational sites.Key Responsibilities: Lead and continuously improve the company''s HSEQ management systems and procedures. Ensure compliance with UK Health and Safety and environmental legislation. Manage and maintain ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems. Lead site inspections, audits, risk assessments and compliance reviews. Manage incident investigations, root-cause analysis and corrective actions. Oversee contractor and supply-chain HSEQ compliance. Lead internal audits and coordinate external, client and regulatory audits. Monitor HSEQ performance, trends and KPIs, reporting findings to senior management. Develop and deliver HSEQ training, briefings and awareness programmes.
