Location: Northampton
Salary: £32,000 per annum
Hours: Full Time, Permanent
Monday to Thursday 8:00am to 5:00pm | Friday 8:00am to 1:00pm

Interaction Recruitment are recruiting for an experienced HSE Officer to join a well-established manufacturing business based in Northampton.

This is a hands-on role focused on maintaining and improving Health, Safety and Environmental standards across manufacturing, warehouse and office operations. The successful candidate will work closely with site management to ensure compliance, promote a positive safety culture and support continuous improvement activities.

• Monitor compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental policies and procedures.
• Conduct regular workplace inspections, audits and safety walks.
• Create, review and maintain Risk Assessments, Safe Systems of Work (SSOW) and safety documentation.
• Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and corrective actions.
• Support environmental compliance activities, including waste management and spill control measures.
• Deliver HSE inductions, toolbox talks and employee awareness programmes.
• Inspect and maintain safety equipment, emergency equipment and first aid provisions.
• Maintain accurate HSE records, reports and compliance documentation.
• Provide practical HSE guidance and support to managers, supervisors and employees.
• Drive a proactive safety culture throughout the business.

• NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent Health & Safety qualification.
• Previous experience within a Health & Safety, HSE, SHEQ or EHS role.
• Experience carrying out workplace inspections, audits and risk assessments.
• Knowledge of accident investigation and corrective action processes.
• Experience developing Safe Systems of Work and compliance documentation.
• Understanding of UK Health & Safety legislation and best practice.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Confident using Microsoft Office packages.
• Manufacturing, engineering, warehouse or industrial experience would be highly advantageous.
