Are you an experienced HSE Manager with a strong background in heavy industrial, construction or high-risk environments? Do you have the technical expertise and leadership skills to drive safety, health and environmental performance across a complex operational site? If so, this HSE Manager role could be an excellent opportunity for you!


This HSE Manager position is based in Portsmouth, with a salary of up to -65,000. You''ll play a key role across a complex maritime and defence environment incorporating construction projects, dry docks, high-voltage electrical networks, heavy lifting, waterfront facilities, roads and hundreds of buildings.


As the HSE Manager, you''ll be responsible for providing competent HSE management advice, assurance and systems to support the safe and compliant delivery of construction, facilities management and operational services. You''ll lead the development and deployment of the HSE management system in line with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001. You''ll supervise the HSE team and work closely with senior stakeholders, construction subcontractors, employees, customers and regulators. The role will involve leading incident investigations, audits, assurance programmes and SHE improvement initiatives, while developing innovative change programmes designed to improve safety performance and embed a strong culture of continuous improvement. You''ll also provide guidance on CDM 2015, including advising Client, Principal Designer and Principal Contractor duty holders.


You will need:

  • Significant experience in a HSE management role, ideally within heavy industrial, construction, engineering or another high-risk environment
  • Strong technical knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental management systems and standards
  • Proven competence in CDM 2015, with experience advising Client, Principal Designer and Principal Contractor roles
  • Experience leading incident investigations, audits, risk assessments and compliance programmes
  • Previous experience managing, coaching or developing HSE professionals
