HSE Advisor - Piling & Plant Operations

Overview

We are currently supporting a leading specialist piling contractor who are seeking an experienced HSE Advisor to join their operations team based in Burscough.

This role will focus on supporting piling rig operations, plant activity, and workshop/maintenance environments, ensuring the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance across all activities.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established geotechnical contractor with a strong reputation for delivering complex piling and foundation projects across the UK.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide day-to-day HSE support across piling rig operations, plant, and workshop environments
* Conduct site inspections, audits, and safety walkthroughs across live projects
* Support and promote safe systems of work across mobile plant and rig operations
* Assist in accident investigations, reporting, and implementation of corrective actions
* Ensure compliance with company procedures, RAMS, and UK HSE regulations
* Work closely with plant managers, supervisors, and site teams to improve safety performance
* Promote a proactive safety culture across all operational activities
* Support toolbox talks, inductions, and workforce engagement

Candidate Requirements

* Previous experience in an HSE role within construction, civils, piling, or heavy plant environments
* Strong understanding of mobile plant and construction operations
* NEBOSH qualification (or equivalent) desirable
* Comfortable working in a site-based, operational environment
* Strong communication skills with a proactive, hands-on approach
* Ability to engage with site teams and drive behavioural safety culture
