HSE Advisor - Reading

Astute''s Nuclear team are currently recruiting for a Health, Safety and Wellbeing Advisor to support a large defence project near Reading. This is an initial 3-month contract, supporting the HSW Manager with the delivery of Health, Safety and Wellbeing requirements and KPIs.
The Health, Safety and Wellbeing Advisor position comes with a rate of -55.00 per hour Inside IR35.

• Provide visible Health, Safety and Wellbeing support and advice across the project.
• Carry out site inspections and audits, identifying corrective actions and supporting compliance with the Safety Management System.
• Review and advise on Method Statements and Risk Assessments, including those from the supply chain.
• Support external audits, corrective actions and closeout of audit findings.
• Deliver Health and Safety inductions, training and presentations.
• Support accident and incident investigations and identify recommendations for improvement.
• Promote safe behaviours and support the project''s Zero Harm objectives.
• Work with Environmental and Quality teams to support integrated compliance and assurance.
• Support the identification and maintenance of Health and Safety competencies and certifications.
• NEBOSH National Diploma or equivalent required, or demonstrable progress towards a relevant qualification.
• Experience in Health and Safety, ideally within highways, major projects or construction.
• Strong technical Health and Safety knowledge and understanding of HSE Management Systems.
• Experience delivering training and conducting accident/incident investigations.
• Strong communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.
• CMIOSH, accident/incident investigation and Train the Trainer qualifications are desirable.
