About the Role:
As an HR Officer, you will serve as a Professional Advisor, navigating the full spectrum of HR operations. Your expertise will empower managers and ensure that HR services are effective and aligned with organisational goals. Key Responsibilities:
- Professional Advisory: Provide timely and expert advice to managers on people management issues, ensuring adherence to policies and legislation.
- Coaching & Support: Mentor managers on employment and change management issues, fostering confidence in their people management responsibilities.
- Case Management: Handle a varied caseload of HR issues, including performance management and misconduct investigations, delivering creative solutions.
- Change Management: Facilitate effective change processes related to partnership initiatives and restructuring efforts.
- Policy Development: Contribute to the simplification and improvement of HR policies and procedures, enhancing operational efficiency.
Who You Are:
- Qualifications: You hold a CIPD Level 5 Diploma in HR Management (or equivalent) or possess relevant practical HR experience.
- Employment Law Knowledge: You have a solid understanding of employment law and experience providing specialised HR guidance.
- Interpersonal Skills: With excellent negotiation and communication skills, you handle sensitive matters with tact and professionalism.
- Decision Maker: You possess strong problem-solving abilities and can work independently, displaying resilience under pressure.
- Tech Savvy: A high degree of computer literacy is essential for managing HR systems and processes.
Desirable Attributes:
- Chartered membership of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) is a plus.
- Previous HR experience within the Police Service is beneficial but not mandatory.
