This six-month temporary contract as an HR Advisor in Sunderland offers £38,000 to £43,000 annually, working full time on sickness cover for Northern Powergrid's People team. Pertemps are actively recruiting on behalf of Northern Powergrid for an experienced HR Advisor to join their People team.
This is an exciting opportunity for a customer-focused HR professional to provide practical, people-focused advice and support to managers and key stakeholders across a dedicated business area.
You’ll play an important role in supporting a wide range of HR activity, including employee relations, recruitment, performance management, absence, wellbeing, organisational change and learning and development.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide a comprehensive HR advisory service across a dedicated directorate
- Coach and support managers on employee relations matters including absence, performance, disciplinary and grievance
- Advise managers on recruitment, resourcing and organisational changes
- Support talent development and performance improvement plans
- Provide HR input into projects, change programmes and working groups
- Use HR data and metrics to identify trends and support continuous improvement
- Build strong relationships with managers, colleagues and trade union representatives
- Work closely with the wider People Services team and provide support to the People Business Partner
- Ensure a high-quality, customer-focused HR service is delivered
- CIPD qualification
- Significant generalist HR experience within a large or complex organisation
- Experience working in an HR advisory or business partnering environment
- Experience partnering with senior stakeholders, including at Director level
- Experience supporting and implementing organisational change
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and IT systems
- A full clean driving licence
- Degree in HR, Business or a related subject
- Experience working within a trade union recognised environment
- HR experience within a blue-collar or operational industry
