Job title: Housing support worker Location: Penryn Hours: 22.2 hours per week over 3 days on a rolling rota between 8.30am and 8.30pm Contract: 6 month fixed term with potential for extension Salary: 15.36 per hour paye or 19.64 per hour via umbrella Position: Do you thrive helping possible tenants get into accommodation where they feel safe? BDS Recruitment are looking for an experienced Housing Support Worker to work in the centre of Penryn. The complex consists of 6 shared flats up to 12 residents. The role will include supporting vulnerable tenants who may have a history of mental health issues, substance misuse or homelessness to maintain their tenancies and live independently. Key duties: Providing responsive, person-centred assistance to individuals with complex needs, helping them achieve positive outcomes and independence. Build open and trusting relationships with residents, colleagues, and partner agencies to ensure seamless and comprehensive support. Encourage individuals to engage in social, educational and employment opportunities, preventing isolation and promoting self-determination. Conduct risk assessments and maintain professional boundaries, ensuring health, safety and compliance with safeguarding policies. Essential Criteria: Have an understanding of support needs and support planning. Have experience of risk assessing and risk management. Have accurate record keeping and computer skills.
