Housing Support Officer- Domestic Abuse

We are recruiting for a Domestic Abuse Support Worker on behalf of a charity specialising in housing and domestic abuse support. The role involves supporting individuals and families across Monmouthshire who have experienced or are experiencing domestic abuse and require housing-related assistance.You will help service users improve their safety, maintain their tenancies, access appropriate support and work towards independent living. The role covers a range of needs and risk levels, including ongoing support beyond the initial crisis stage.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide practical and emotional support to individuals and families affected by domestic abuse and housing difficulties.Conduct needs assessments and develop personalised support plans in partnership with service users.Complete risk assessments, including SafeLives DASH assessments, and develop appropriate safety and risk management plans.Support individuals to maintain their tenancies and prevent homelessness or tenancy breakdown.Assist service users in accessing alternative accommodation, housing advice and welfare benefits where required.Work collaboratively with housing providers, local authorities, the police, social services, IDVAs and other statutory and voluntary agencies.Identify safeguarding concerns and respond appropriately to changing levels of risk.Support individuals to develop confidence, independence and sustainable community support networks.Assess home security needs and liaise with relevant agencies ..... full job details .....
