Housing Standards Officer Location: Westminster, London Contract: 6 Months (with the possibility of extension) Working Pattern: Full-Time Aatom Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Housing Standards Officer on behalf of a local authoirty. This is an exciting opportunity to join the councils Environmental Health Service within the Public Protection and Licensing Directorate, helping to ensure that residents living within the private rented sector have access to safe, healthy, and well-managed homes. We are seeking an experienced Housing Standards or Housing Enforcement professional who is passionate about improving housing conditions and delivering positive outcomes for residents across Westminster. Key Responsibilities Respond to complaints relating to housing conditions and residential properties. Undertake inspections of private sector residential accommodation. Assess housing conditions and identify hazards using the Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS). Prepare schedules of works, notices, reports, and recommendations. Investigate housing standards concerns and take appropriate action to secure compliance. Work proactively with landlords, tenants, managing agents, and other stakeholders. Support the delivery of both reactive and proactive inspection programmes. Maintain accurate records, evidence, and case management information.
