The service plays a key role in supporting the Council to meet its homelessness prevention and relief duties in accordance with the Housing Act 1996 as amended by the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017Synopsis of duties:Carrying out housing need assessments and identifying housing and support needs and assessing the council s duty to houseFocusing on homeless prevention work and use a range of prevention tools to maximise opportunities to prevent and relieve homelessnessManaging a caseload of survivors/families affected by domestic abuse, supporting them to find housing appropriate to their needs and support to access to statutory and other community services as necessarySupporting service users who attend drop-in sessionsUndertaking initial inquiries into a person s eligibility and homelessness/threatened with homelessness status and making ..... full job details .....
