The role will focus on assessing homelessness applications, making statutory decisions and preventing and relieving homelessness in accordance with Parts VI and VII of the Housing Act 1996. The successful candidate will manage complex homelessness cases with a high degree of autonomy, including decisions around statutory duties and Private Rented Sector offers.The Role Assessing homelessness applications under Part VII of the Housing Act 1996. Completing detailed investigations and making legally compliant homelessness decisions. Assessing Housing Register applications in accordance with Part VI. Developing and delivering prevention and relief options for households at risk of homelessness. Making appropriate Private Rented Sector offers to reduce reliance on temporary accommodation. Making decisions regarding the ending and discharge of statutory homelessness duties. Preparing statutory decision letters, legal documentation and reports.
