An Essex-based local authority is seeking a Housing Options Team Leader on an initial 6-month contract, with the possibility of extension.

The role:

• Lead and manage a team of 5 Housing Options Officers

• Oversee homelessness assessments, housing advice, and statutory duties

• Provide guidance on complex cases and ensure consistent, high-quality service

• Monitor team performance and drive service improvements

• Office attendance required 2 days per week, with flexibility on other days

What you''ll need:

• Experience managing or supervising Housing Options Officers

• Strong knowledge of homelessness legislation (Housing Act 1996, Homelessness Reduction Act 2017)

• Ability to handle complex housing cases and support frontline staff
