Housing Options Officer-
Working to prevent and relieve homelessness by offering advice and support to individuals facing housing challenges
Consider and assess homeless applications in accordance with the Housing Act 1996 Part 7 as amended by the Homeless Reduction Act 2017
To provide clients with a personalised Housing Plan to ensure clients have the best chance to improve their housing options.
To reach decisions and recommendations on homelessness cases, in accordance with the legislation and relevant case law.
Assess the clients needs, explore options and make decisions related to housing, -working with those at risk of becoming homeless or already experiencing homelessness.-
Assessing Homeless Applications from first initial contact through to making s184 decisions
Dealing with both clients and multiagency staff both in person, over the phone and via Teams.
To ensure that risk assessments are carried out and referrals are made as necessary for clients to enable them to be considered for all housing options
