Housing Officer (Compliance) - Part Time
A part-time Housing Officer opportunity is available within a busy housing service. This temporary role is expected to run for around 6 months and would suit someone with strong housing management experience who is confident working with tenants, contractors and internal teams.
Location: Norwich Rate: 23.93 (Umbrella)
Hours: 16 hours per week
Contract: Temporary - 6 months minimumFlexible
Working Pattern: Hours can be worked across either 2 or 3 days, depending on the successful candidate''s preference. Based on service needs, there is flexibility around how the hours are structured.
Your New Organisation
You will be joining an established housing team that provides support to residents and helps ensure properties remain safe, well-managed and compliant. The role is part-time and offers flexibility around how the weekly hours are worked.
Your New Role
This is a varied part-time role where you will help residents, support the wider housing team and help keep key compliance work moving. This will include supporting with EICRs, gas safety checks, property access, appointments, resident contact and general housing-related follow-up.
Key duties will include:
- Speak with residents to arrange appointments and property access.
- Support compliance activity, including EICRs, gas safety checks and follow-up visits.
- Help resolve simple tenancy, property and housing-related queries.
- Keep case notes, appointments and records up to date.
- Work with colleagues, contractors and partner teams to make sure actions are completed.
- Provide a helpful and professional service to residents.
What You''ll Need to Succeed
Essential:
- Previous experience in housing management, tenancy management, neighbourhoods or a similar housing role.
- Confident managing a varied caseload.
- Experience working with customers, including those with additional support needs.
- Good understanding of tenancy issues, safeguarding and resident engagement.
- Strong communication, organisation and record-keeping skills.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
Desirable:
- Experience supporting compliance work such as EICRs, gas safety, property access, inspections or contractor liaison.
- Knowledge of social housing processes and landlord responsibilities.
- CIH qualification or working towards one.
