Housing Needs Officer - Rough Sleepers
Adecco are recruiting for an experienced Housing Needs Officer to support a busy Housing Needs service within a South London local authority. This role focuses on rough sleepers and individuals at risk of rough sleeping, combining statutory housing duties with proactive outreach and intensive casework.You will play a key role in assessing, preventing, and relieving homelessness, delivering a person-centred service in line with the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017, and supporting vulnerable individuals into sustainable accommodation and long-term independence.Housing Needs Officer - Rough SleepersPublic Sector - Local Authority - Croydon CouncilFull Time - Monday to Friday, 36 hours per weekGrade 9 - 22.41 per hour PAYE / 29.72 per hour UmbrellaHybrid Working - 2 to 3 days per week in office, remainder at home Temporary Role - current sign off to March 2027IT equipment providedASAP StartKey ResponsibilitiesCasework and AssessmentsManage a caseload of rough sleepers and single homeless applicantsConduct detailed housing needs assessments and determine statutory dutiesDevelop and maintain Personalised Housing Plans (PHPs)Rough Sleeper EngagementWork alongside outreach teams to identify and verify rough sleepersEngage with individuals with complex needs (e.g. mental health, substance misuse, offending history)Build trust through flexible, proactive approachesHomelessness Prevention and ReliefTake action to prevent homelessness (e.g. mediation, tenancy sustainment)Source suitable ..... full job details .....
