Aztrum is delighted to be representing a leader in residential development, who are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Housing Layout Designer to join its dynamic planning and design team. 

Key Responsibilities for this Housing Layout Designer role: 

• Develop residential layout designs from concept to planning submission stage.
• Prepare and revise masterplans, street scenes, and plot layouts to meet project specifications and planning requirements.
• Collaborate with architects, planning consultants, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure coordinated design solutions.
• Ensure all designs comply with local authority planning policies, building regulations, and client specifications.
• Undertake site appraisals and contribute to feasibility studies for potential development opportunities.
• Present design proposals to internal teams, planning authorities, and clients when required.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of urban design principles, housing design standards (e.g., National Design Guide, Building for a Healthy Life), and industry best practices.

Required Skills and Experience for this Housing Layout Designer role: 

• Proven experience in residential or urban layout design.
• Proficiency in CAD software ,knowledge of GIS or 3D modeling software is an advantage.
• Strong understanding of UK planning processes, housing design guidelines, and local authority requirements.
• Excellent spatial awareness and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines.
• Effective communication and presentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Degree or diploma in Urban Design, Architecture, Planning, or a related discipline.
• Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., RTPI, RIBA, CIAT) is desirable.
