The role will focus on improving housing standards, protecting residents and taking enforcement action where landlords and agents fail to comply with legislation. You will investigate complaints, undertake proactive inspections, support property licensing schemes and supervise up to six staff. Key Responsibilities Inspect private sector properties and identify hazards using HHSRS. Take statutory enforcement action, including prosecutions where required. Investigate housing complaints and complex cases. Advise landlords, tenants, agents and other stakeholders. Deal with property licensing, drainage, public health, pest control and fire safety issues.
