You will assess individual circumstances, determine statutory housing duties and identify practical solutions that help customers secure or maintain suitable accommodation.The role involves managing a varied and complex caseload while working closely with vulnerable customers, their advocates, support networks and partner agencies.What you will do as a Housing Advice and Prevention Officer Assess housing and homelessness applications in accordance with relevant legislation, statutory guidance and local policies. Interview and investigate customers who are homeless or threatened with homelessness to establish their circumstances and housing needs. Undertake active homelessness prevention and relief casework, identifying appropriate interventions and housing solutions. Manage a varied and complex caseload from initial application through to housing outcomes, ensuring decisions and actions are accurately documented. Provide clear housing advice covering areas such as eligibility, housing options, allocations, temporary accommodation and tenancy sustainment.
