About the Role
Aylesbury-based Hot Fire Test Technician, Aerospace Pr role is available on a permanent basis with a salary of £42,000 to £48,000 per annum. You will support space propulsion testing programmes, collaborating with Test Engineers on site preparation and propellant handling. Duties cover sampling, pressure control system checks, mechanical and steam vacuum systems, instrumentation calibration, and boiler operation. Collation and review of test data forms part of the work, alongside extensive duties on high-pressure gas and fluidic systems. You will interpret Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams and use electrical measurement equipment. Handling satellite flight hardware is central, including preparing engines for test, installing instrumentation onto stands, and removing them after firing.
Space thruster Test Technician required to support Hot Fire Space Propulsion Testing programmes.
The successful application will work with Test Engineers on site preparation, propellant handling, propellant sampling, pressure control systems checks, mechanical and steam vacuum systems, instrumentation calibrations, steam boiler operation also the collation and review of test data.
There will be extensive work on high pressure gas and fluidic systems including interpretation and understanding of Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams and the use of electrical and electronic measurement and testing equipment.
You will be working with satellite flight hardware, the preparation of space flight engines for test. Including instrumentation, installation on to the test stand, removal post hot fire test, and subsequent engine decontamination activities, etc.
