Horticulture Officer - Allotments

Responsibilities and Duties

• We require someone to be able to inspect over 1000 allotment plots to issue non cultivation notices.

• The role will also require the person to show prospective tenants plots and reduce our vacancies on our allotment sites.

• We also have funding to allow for untended plots to be cleared to allow them to be let to new tenants and the successful candidate will be required to project manage this as well as identify repairs that are required and arrange for the defects to be repaired by a contractor.

• This is a role which is mainly based on site in all weathers, visiting allotment sites on a daily basis. Office work is minimal but project management skills would be helpful and clear record keeping is essential.

• Use of own vehicle to get around the borough is preferable. Car Mileage will be paid at the council rate.
