First Achieve Engineering Recruitment are acting on behalf of their client, a well-established and highly successful engineering manufacturer, who are looking for an experienced Conventional Horizontal Borer to join their manufacturing team in South Lanarkshire

This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled Horizontal Borer looking for a stable, long-term position within a specialist engineering environment.

• Set up and operate conventional horizontal boring machines.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Produce large and complex components to tight tolerances.
• Select appropriate tooling and machining methods.
• Inspect and measure your own work.
• Operate other conventional machinery where required, including lathes, mills and drills.
• Work safely and maintain high standards of housekeeping.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and workshop efficiency.

• Proven experience as a Conventional Horizontal Borer / Horizontal Boring Machine Operator.
• Strong engineering drawing interpretation skills.
• Experience working to tight tolerances.
• Good understanding of machining processes and tooling.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Desirable: Experience with a Kerns Richard SH75 or similar, overhead crane operation and/or counterbalance forklift licence.
