PURPOSE OF THE ROLE You will manage a varied caseload, delivering high-quality housing advice and carrying out statutory homelessness duties under Part VII of the Housing Act 1996 and the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017. The role includes a duty rota (typically 1–2 days per week), where you will undertake housing assessments for customers presenting as homeless or threatened with homelessness. On non-duty days deliver homelessness prevention interventions by negotiating with landlords, family members, and friends to prevent homelessness, securing financial assistance to clear rent arrears where appropriate, supporting clients to access Private Rented Sector (PRS) and supported accommodation, and applying for funding to help individuals secure and sustain suitable housing.
