Job Title: Homeless Prevention Officer - Interim

Location: Hampshire
Rate: -19.65 per hour (PAYE) / -25.71 per hour (Umbrella)
Contract Type: Interim
Working Pattern: Hybrid (3 days in office, 2 days WFH, alternating weekly)

About the Role:
We are seeking a Senior Homeless Prevention Officer to join a team committed to tackling homelessness. You will have excellent working knowledge of Part 7 of the Housing Act 1996 and the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017. Your role will involve managing a caseload, using a person-centred approach to undertake detailed housing options and support needs assessments, and taking actions to prevent homelessness.

You will work alongside individuals and families at risk of homelessness, many of whom have multiple and complex vulnerabilities. Collaboration with internal and external partners, including accommodation providers and community safety teams, will be key.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage a caseload using a person-centred approach to assess housing options and support needs.
• Take actions to prevent homelessness and make statutory homeless determinations.
• Apply a trauma-informed approach to provide effective homelessness prevention services.
• Collaborate with internal and external partners to support vulnerable individuals and families.

Requirements:

• Excellent working knowledge of Part 7 of the Housing Act 1996 and the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017.
• Experience in managing complex caseloads and providing housing options assessments.
• Ability to work effectively with individuals and families with multiple vulnerabilities.
• Strong collaboration skills to work with internal and external partners.
