Homeless Accommodation Officer (temp: Crawley, West Sussex)

A fantastic opportunity has emerged for a Homeless/Temporary Accommodation Officer to join one of our most improved public sector clients in West Sussex on a temporary contract vacancy for the next three months, working from their Crawley office on a hybrid basis (2 days). You will be part of a small team, and should the role go permanent in the future the starting salary is 30,102 per annum.Reporting into the Housing Options Team Leader, this is a full time generic role for 36 hours per week (Monday to Friday) and you will be expected to: Carry out the daily operational duties required for the Council''s temporary accommodation including private rented and supported accommodation managed by other providers. Ensure homeless households are placed into the most suitable and cost effective form of temporary accommodation available to the Council in accordance with its legal duties. Carry out sign-ups for nightly paid temporary accommodation placements with the applicant and ensure that they understand all aspects, costs and responsibilities of that placement. Assist residents/customers with maintaining their accommodation. Co-ordinate voids within the council''s temporary accommodation portfolio and identify and provide the most suitable nominations of homeless households to providers in accordance with the relevant service level agreement.
