Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) ASC and SLD Location: Uxbridge, West LondonStart Date: ASAPContract: Full-time, Long-termPay: Competitive daily rate, dependent on experienceAre you an experienced HLTA with a strong background supporting children and young people with Autism (ASC) and Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD)?Are you confident leading learning activities, supporting pupils with complex needs and stepping in to deliver lessons when required?TeacherActive is working with a specialist SEND setting in the Uxbridge area that is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join their team on a long-term basis.The role As an HLTA, you will: Support pupils with ASC, SLD and additional complex learning needsLead small-group and individual learning activitiesDeliver pre-planned lessons and provide classroom cover when requiredAdapt activities to meet individual EHCP targetsSupport pupils with communication, sensory and behavioural needsWork with verbal and non-verbal pupils using appropriate communication strategiesWork closely with teachers, therapists and other support professionalsHelp maintain a calm, structured and positive learning environment The ideal HLTA will have: HLTA qualification or substantial HLTA-level experiencePrevious experience working within a SEND school or specialist provisionStrong experience supporting pupils with ASC and/or SLDConfidence leading groups and delivering learning activitiesAn understanding of ..... full job details .....
