Supply Desk are pleased to be working with a well-established and friendly two-form entry primary school in Maidstone, Kent. This Ofsted-rated andlsquo;Goodandrsquo; school are currently seeking a reliable and engaging Higher-Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their team on a full-time, long-term basis for the remainder of the academic year.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an aspiring teacher, an experienced HLTA, or a teaching assistant looking to step up into a classroom leadership role. The successful candidate will be confident in delivering pre-planned lessons and managing whole classes across EYFS, KS1, and KS2, particularly during teacher absences and training days.
About the Role:
- Lead whole-class teaching across the primary age range during teacher absences or scheduled cover
- Work across EYFS, Key Stage 1, and Key Stage 2
- Deliver pre-prepared lessons and maintain a positive, engaging classroom environment
- Provide support for pupils with SEND where required
- Work closely with teachers and support staff to ensure continuity in learning and uphold high standards
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Be a qualified HLTA, experienced teaching assistant, or aspiring teacher with a strong understanding of primary education
- Have experience leading whole classes confidently and managing behaviour effectively
- Be adaptable, organised, and enthusiastic
- Demonstrate a commitment to supporting all learners, including those with additional needs
- Hold a valid enhanced DBS on the update service (or be willing to apply)
- Be able to provide two professional references
